After a fun introduction to service design by our three speakers, Rachel Chan, David Jacques and Scot Frank on the first d
ay, the Jammers are back for more! It is the second day of the HK 48hr Service Jam, the day the real-life jamming begins – but not before we pitch our ideas to the Mexico team! Both groups were full of energy and the high atmosphere kept everyone’s motivation up for the later activities. We also had two speakers today, David Jacques and Ken Chan from Hassell design firm, both giving us valuable design tips and a direction for our ideas. One of the highlights of the process was when groups collected all their shared ideas
and knowledge on the user, looked for patterns and organized them all using colorful post-it notes. After a long day of critical thinking and intense discussions, the OC’s surprise “egg tart jamming”, boxes of baked egg tarts right out of the oven, was a reward for all their hard work! Ready for some more social innovation, we started a brainstorming marathon and cross-shared ideas with our group mates, gaining unexpected and valuable insights into the needs of a user! Critical discussions continue all throughout the Ideation exercises at full speed! At the end of the day, it was really touching to see groups forming bonds and talking so passionately about their ideas – hopefully those feelings can be a great lasting memory of the HK Service Jam! Can’t wait for the finished ideas tomorrow! Good luck to all jammers everywhere in the world!
